Pumpkin Patch

I LOVE pumpkins!!!!!
I don't know what is is about them, they just make me happy. Whenever I see my first sighting of them at the store it brings me so much joy! I really wanted to get some family pictures done at a pumpkin patch, but it was really windy and cold on Ryan's days off so we couldn't. Yesterday was still a little chilly but there was no wind. So my sister Ashely and I packed up the kids and headed to a pumpkin patch. Here are a "few" pictures from the day.
I always take tons!!!

Happy Boy

Ten Months

Can you believe it?........

This little guy is ten months old!
My Dear Ezra,
You are getting so big and are changing so much! You are saying Mama and Dada and you know what they mean! When I leave the room you come looking for me saying "Mama...mom?.......MOM!" You enjoy taking baths so much you sing during them. You love to wave and say hi to everyone and everything! Today, as I was feeding you, the wind started to blow and you stopped eating and looked around. I said "That's the wind blowing through the trees." You looked at the window waved and continued eating. You were waving to the wind. You also waved to the bacon we made today. You are still getting into EVERYTHING! You crawl everywhere and walk where ever you can find something to help you stand. You had a fever this month that got all the way up to 103 degrees (that is very high). It scared Mommy and Daddy! We took you to the Doctor and they said you had a little infection in your throat and that you would be better in a few days...and you were. You also had a well visit. You weigh about 20lbs and you are 29 inches long. The doctor said you are tall and thin just like Daddy. You are such a sweet bright boy and I am so glad you are my son!
Love,
Mommy
P.S. Here are a few things we have done this past month.

Watched General Conference

Went to the store

You feed yourself.......

And you loved it!

Bounce U

My Mom and my three youngest siblings are leaving very soon! Life has been so busy with all the preparations for the move that we haven't had much time for fun. So I got us some passes to a place called Bounce U. It is a warehouse sized place full of bouncy houses. We bounced till we were beat and than had dinner as a family. A fun night for sure! Alan said it was just as fun as Disneyland!!! What a complement!
Enjoy the pictures.....

Those gloves were heavy!
We LOVE each other!

Alan was a great referee.

Ezra was NOT impressed.

Can you find my Mom?

PIE

Ryan and I entered our very first pie eating contests at a church activity. This is something I NEVER thought I would do. It was fun! Not something I think I will do again but....... Never say NEVER.

Me and the winner of the women's round Kacey

Ryan is very serious about that pie!
Our friend Tim won the men's round.

Me covering up the pie I discretely spit out after the winner was announced. I think I stick to eating my pie one bit at a time............ with a fork!
P.S. I was Banana Cream.

Look Ma, NO HANDS!

Yesterday Ezra stood all by himself (for about four seconds) for the first time!!! Ryan and I were both there to witness. So many feeling filled me...PRIDE: at this new milestone, SADNESS: that my baby is turning into a big boy and JOY: just being his mom and watching him grow!!!

What's for dinner?

Tomato and Basil Angel Hair Toss

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup sliced green onions
6 large tomatoes, peeled & diced
1 large bunch fresh basil, chopped
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1 lb. Angel hair pasta
fresh grated parmesan cheese, to taste

DIRECTIONS:

Heat oil in large pan. Add garlic and green onions. Stir-fry for 2-3 min. Add tomatoes, basil, salt and pepper. Simmer on low heat, stiring frequently. Prepare pasta according to package directions. Drain and toss hot pasta with tomato mixture. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and serve immediately.

To peel tomatoes: score the bottom of the tomato. Blanche each tomato in boiling water for 15-30 seconds, place hot tomato in a bowl of ice water and the skin peels off easily.

Ryan and I love, love, love this dish! It is good hot or cold. We think it tastes better when it is at least a day old if not a couple. Ryan told me we should ALWAYS have this in the fridge!
OK EVERYONE......
Please share your favorite recipes! I get sick making the same things over and over and I'm sure you to too. At least once each month I will share a new recipe with you so please share yours too! You can post them as a comment here and or on your blog.
