 18 weeks and one day

Thank you to everyone for all the well wishes. I am doing well. I guess I will back track a little to give you the full story. It took us longer then we wanted to get pregnant. I was really starting to worry!!!! I was a mess, poor Ryan. He would alway tell me that it would all work out and not to worry. Did I mention he was telling this to Brittany Ann Petersen the QUEEN of worrying! Well as soon as I REALLY stopped  (I pretended many times) it happened. So we were having a baby, that means no more worrying right? Yeah right, it was just the beginning.  I had some blood problems and thought I might have a miscarriage, I was so afraid! I was teaching dance at the time but had to quite because of the problems I was having. Thanks to the power of prayer and Priesthood blessings the baby is fine. We waited to tell family and friends for awhile. I couldn't handle my own worrying let alone having others worry.
So for those of you who don't know Ryan and I are currently living with Ryan's parents. So I was trying to think of a creative way to tell Ryan's Dad and Diana. In the front room when you first walk to their house they have pictures of all there children. On top of Ryan's photo we put two snap shots. One of Ryan holding the pregnancy test and the other of the close up of the word PREGNANT (we did a digital test) I also made a little sign that said "we're having a baby." Well we put this up Sunday afternoon thinking they would see it when they woke up from their Sunday naps. This was not so! They did not see it until Wednesday afternoon... and I think it was our niece Lauren who really saw it first.
Baby and I are doing well! The baby is moving and kicking me all the time. Lots of people have been asking me how my back is doing because of my scoliosis. I do have back pain but I have been able to manage it pretty well with Chiropractic (Thank you Dad, I am a lucky girl to have such a talented Dad!) and yoga. I am also really enjoying swimming!
Ryan and I feel so blessed to be having a child and look forward to being parents! Thank you for all your love and support!!!!

The Fourth of July

The fourth was so much fun! Well at least it was for me. Ryan had to work. My parents stayed at their time share here in town. I spent the day with my family at the resort enjoying the festivities, Food, Fun and Games!

Our New Babies!

Well after a very difficult and long labor Ryan and I are now proud parents of the new iphone 3G.  Ryan has been wanting the iphone ever since the first one came out. We had contracts with

T-mobile and we didn't want to pay the $400.00 it would take to brake our contract so he has been waiting a very long time. It worked out well because the new iphone is better and cheeper (which makes it better to me, I don't know much about all the fancy stuff). Our contract ended on the 10th of July and the new iphone came out on the 11th. Well it has been crazy to try and get these things! They are sold out at every AT&T store in Las Vegas. Trust me I've been there or called them multiple times. Each morning at 9:00 am I would call to see if they had a new shipment. I tried to be extra polite because I figure they are getting lots of grumpy calls from others wanting the phone. The other place I would look each night was online on the Apple website. Each night at 9:00 pm they would post if there would be any available to purchase the next day at the Mac stores. One day I saw that there would be some available so I made the trip to the Fashion Show Mall. When I got there they didn't have any. Yesterday I did my calling rounds as usual, still sold out. I decided to call the Mall even though on the website they said there were none available. Me " Hi I was calling to see if you had any of the new iphones in stock?" Mac Worker " NO." Me "OK thank..." Mac Worker " What ( he was talking to someone else) "oh, we do have some. We have the black 8g and the black 16g, no white." After thanking him and hanging up the phone. I ran (really I did) into the bedroom where Ryan was sleeping woke him up (my hast made him believe someone had died). We got to the store as fast as we could. By the time we got there the line was already formed. We got there at about 10:30 and were done at about 12:20. It took a while but we did it! So now we talk free to anyone who has AT&T. This is good because the people I used the most minutes talking to are AT&T customers (My Family & Karen). We love are new phones!

We also had something else cool happen yesterday. After we took Ryan clothes to the cleaners I wanted to stop by the JC Penny to do some window shopping. There wasn't much exciting so I was walking through the store pretty fast (to Ryan's dismay! He was playing with his new phone. The one time he was ok with me taking my sweet time.) We went to the baby section to look around. This was a favorite activity of mine even before we were expecting. Everything is cute when its small! Ryan noticed a sales rack everything was $1.97. Well it turned out there were about ten racks where everything was $ 1.97. We bought LOTS of stuff! We don't know what we are having yet so we bought girl and boy stuff. We will have both someday and if not we can give it away. We feel so blessed to find such a good deal!

My Wonderful Husband!

Ryan
I just wanted to take a time out to say thank you to my husband. He has been so wonderful during this pregnancy! I know I have not always been fun to be around..... crying at the drop of the hat..... to crazy happy...... to just mean. He has been so supportive, kind and patient! Thank you to the most wonderful husband in the world!!! Thank you for working so hard for our family! I love you!!!!

You know it is so easy to complain and nit pick, but how often do we take the time to find the good? I know that sometimes I get upset at the littlest and most meaningless things. Sometimes they might seam like a big deal at the time and maybe they are. But I look at them in the eternal scheme of things they really are so unimportant! What does matter is are loved ones and are relationship we have with them. My goal is to let the little things go. Also to thank others for the things they do instead of finding fault for the thing they don't do. The world would be a better place if we all said thank you a little more!

The Middle Wife

A funny story in "Celebration" of all us having babies!!!

The Middle Wife

By an anonymous 2nd grade teacher

I've been teaching now for about fifteen years. I have two kids myself, but the best birth story I know is the one I saw in my own second grade classroom a few years back.

When I was a kid, I loved show-and-tell. So I always have a few sessions with my students. It helps them get over shyness and usually, show-and-tell is pretty tame. Kids bring in pet turtles, model airplanes, pictures of fish they catch, stuff like that. And I never, ever place any boundaries or limitations on them. If they want to lug it in to school and talk about it, they're welcome.

Well, one day this little girl, Erica, a very bright, very outgoing kid, takes her turn and waddles up to the front of the class with a pillow stuffed under her sweater.
She holds up a snapshot of an infant. "This is Luke, my baby brother, and I'm going to tell you about his birthday."

"First, Mom and Dad made him as a symbol of their love, and then Dad put a seed in my Mom's stomach, and Luke grew in there. He ate for nine months through an umbrella cord."
She's standing there with her hands on the pillow, and I'm trying not to laugh and wishing I had my camcorder with me. The kids are watching her in amazement.

"Then, about two Saturdays ago, my Mom starts saying and going, 'Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh!' Erica puts a hand behind her back and groans. "She walked around the house for, like an hour, 'Oh, oh, oh!' (Now this kid is doing a hysterical duck walk and groaning.)

"My Dad called the middle wife. She delivers babies, but she doesn't have a sign on the car like the Domino's man. They got my Mom to lie down in bed like this." (Then Erica lies down with her back against the wall.)

"And then, pop! My Mom had this bag of water she kept in there in case he got thirsty, and it just blew up and spilled all over the bed, like psshhheew!" (This kid has her legs spread with her little hands miming water flowing away. It was too much!)

"Then the middle wife starts saying 'push, push,' and 'breathe, breathe. They started counting, but never even got past ten. Then, all of a sudden, out comes my brother. He was covered in yucky stuff that they all said it was from Mom's play-center, (placenta) so there must be a lot of toys inside there."

Then Erica stood up, took a big theatrical bow and returned to her seat. I'm sure I applauded the loudest. Ever since then, when it's show-and-tell day, I bring my camcorder, just in case another "Middle Wife" comes along.
