December 5, 2009

I have ALWAYS (for the last five years) wanted to be a part of The Great Santa Run! Every year there has been a was on Sunday...I was thing or another I couldn't do it. Well this year I'm not pregnant and it was on a Saturday so I figured, now's my chance! For those of you who don't know about The Las Vegas Great Santa Run let me tell you a little about it. The 5k run (THE GREAT SANTA RUN) or 1 mile walk (The Kris Kringle Jingle) is a fundraiser, for Opportunity Village (click for more info). This year was the fifth run. Each year they try to beat the world record for most Santas in one place. This year there were 8,868 registered (only people registered for the race count for The Genis Book of World Record.......NOT CUTE BABIES LIKE EZRA, or puppies) Santas! This set a new Las Vegas Record and beat Liverpool's record!

People came from all over the country to be apart of the race!!!!
My plan was to "wog" (walk/jog) the 5k but I actually RAN more then half the race! I'm pretty proud of myself because I DON'T RUN!!!!

I had such a great time and I can't wait for next year!

Ezra fueling up for the race with some sweet potatoes

One cute Santa and his cute Daddy!!!!!

It looks like this Santa has been down a few chimneys already!

Ezra wanted to crawl around on the pavement.

Ready....... Set.......

Where's Waldo?....... I mean Brittany.

The race was held at The Town Square Mall. People shopping that day were shocked! Some stared yelling "GO SANTA GO!!!"

AWESOME!! Take it from someone who NEVER thought I'd be able to run... it's amazing what we can do when we set our minds to it! Running my first 5k was such an awesome experience, and I'm betting you'll want to do more after this fun Santa run :)
